What you need to know is I’m a luxury pet spaw and I put emphasis on making the dogs experience a happy special one. I want my dogs to be excited to come see me not fearful of the groomer. Being a certified professional dog trainer I know how to work with them and how to get around difficult situations without emotionally damaging the dog. In addition to being a certified professional dog trainer and canine good citizen evaluator I am also a licensed cosmetologist graduating from a Paul Mitchell partner school in 2006 and receiving my cosmetology license shortly after. Having this training helped me immensely when I was learning to groom and gives me an edge, understanding how hair works and how it should be cut to achieve the desired end result.

An example of how I operate is Coco’s story. Coco was a shih tzu puppy who came to me for her very first groom ever. She was extremely nervous.
I spent 4 hours ensuring she had a wonderful experience, as I said being a certified professional dog trainer I know how important that is. I didn’t charge the client for the extra time because realistically I could have just powered through the groom in an hour but she would have had a bad experience and I absolutely will NOT do that to any dog especially not a puppy's first groom. So I spent the extra time and didn’t charge the client extra money. She was very grateful and it was so worth it! When Coco got here she was peeing and pooping she was so scared. When she left she was my best friend kissing me wagging her tail and wiggling about so happy and excited, it just made my heart burst with joy

It is also important to know my groom times may be extended because like I mentioned I do what’s best for the dog. I’m actually an EXTREMELY quick groomer, but since working from home and starting my own business I’m able to take my time to ensure the dog has a great experience so it’s been taking much longer than it would in a shop. Often times big shops focus on keeping groom times short to accommodate as many dogs as quickly as possible to ensure a bigger profit. I, however, come to the point where I’m only booking in 2-6 dogs per day (depending on the dog and what service they're getting) so I can take that extra time and do what’s right for the dog. Money is great but the dogs experience is far more important to me. I focus on quality above all else. That’s why I consider myself a luxury pet spaw. Their experience should be enjoyable and relaxing just like when we go to the spa. And that is my goal 

So this should provide you a bit of an idea of what I do here. The pet's experience is my absolute number one priority and being a certified professional dog trainer I know how important a positive grooming experience is to every dog, also my years of dog training allow me to understand how to work with just about every dog and any type of behavior and how to complete a beautiful groom on even the most challenging pet but also ensure they have a positive experience along the way and hopefully change any negative perception they may have from any previous less than positive grooming experiences.
